« Current economic models are fundamentally wrong because the environment is considered as an externality. Growth means that activities double within a predictable amount of time. In biology, this is exactly the way bacteria evolve. We insert one bacterium in a tube. Every second the bacteria population doubles. After sixty seconds, the bacteria population meets exactly the living resources available in the tube. None of them reflects after fifty-nine seconds “hey Jack, we’re having a population problem here!” – soon after that all of them die. All scientists I speak to agree that human beings have passed the fifty ninth second -- and the only reason for our survival is that we are eating the living resources of our children. »

« The very reason why human beings took over the Planet is because they invented the future – and understood how to anticipate and influence the course of nature by their actions. Unfortunately, they completely lost their link to nature in only one hundred years. Kids today don’t realize that our well-being comes from the great services provided to us by nature for free -- not from global brands. »

« The fact that honeybees are disappearing should terrify all of us. Honeybees are responsible for spreading vegetation – and soon we will sit on top of an ecological pyramid with no base left. »
